COLLECTION OPTIONS

Overland: Departing from Johannesburg International Airport at 10:30 am.

Fly-in: We will meet you off your morning flight arriving at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) or Mpumalanga Airport (MQP) and start your safari by driving for 1 hour to the the Southern region of Kruger Park and enter the park.

Day 1: JOHANNESBURG - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) – Southern Kruger

Our journey takes us through some of the spectacular scenery of the Mpumalanga province. We enter Kruger National Park in search of the famous ‘Big Five’. Arriving at camp in the late afternoon. Time to relax, and enjoy the full buffet restaurant dinner, with views over the Sabie river.

Accommodation: En-suite air-conditioned Bungalow

Day 2: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) - Central Kruger

After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light snack. We then set out to explore some of the 22 different ecological zones found within the Park. Our sightings might include leopard, lion, and some of the rarer antelope species that are found within the Southern region of the Park. Later in the morning we enjoy restaurant breakfast while watching hippos lazing on the river bank. We depart on a game drive to central Kruger. The dense bush gives way to scrub savannah where plains game such as zebra and blue wildebeest are found grazing. This area also is rich in predators such as lion, and hyena. Dinner is served in the restaurant where there is time to reflect on the day’s sightings. After dinner you are welcome to sit and relax by the campfire while listening to the sounds of the African bush.

Note: Clients who are interested can experience an astronomy session (weather permitting) and view planets, global and open star clusters through a 8' Dobsonian Telescope on select departures.

Day 3: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) - Central Kruger

After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light snack. You now have the option to partake in a guided bush walk to see up-close tracks and signs of the African bush (optional extra). Later in the morning we enjoy a restaurant breakfast. You have the option to enjoy the camp, relax by the pool, or you may choose to partake in a full day game drive to the valley of the Olifants, through scrub savannah in search of cheetah and other game with lunch (extra) en-route. . We enjoy lunch with views of the Olifant’s river, where we then make our way to the “River of sand”. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Elephant museum where you can view the famous big seven tuskers of Kruger National park.

We return to camp enjoy a tea/coffee before our sunset game drive. Now is our chance to spot nocturnal animals that are rarely seen during the day. These may include genet, leopard, African wild cat, and giant eagle owl. Returning to camp late in the evening for restaurant dinner and campfire under the stars.

Day 4: THE PANORAMA ROUTE - JOHANNESBURG (B)

After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light snack we depart Kruger, enjoying a game drive en-route. We then ascend the Drakensburg mountains with stunning views. We stop to enjoy full buffet breakfast with a stunning view of the Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, and the largest green canyon. We explore the Three Rondavels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, God's Window and some of the spectacular waterfalls found in the region.

Optional activities:
Shangaan Village:
After lunch you have the option to visit a Shangaan village and see the different facets of the Shangaan way of life, including their history and customs, initiation ceremonies, the practice of polygamy, the outfits and weapons of masocho (warriors), the construction of homes, ornate beadwork clothing, and the preparation of food. Guests are encouraged to touch, feel and participate in what is happening in the village. Visit the mystical kraal of the Sangoma (traditional healer). The Sangoma explains different mutis (medicines) and may throw his bones on request. He is a registered member of the Traditional Healers' Association, so the advice he gives is serious!
Elephant Interaction:
All elephants are rescued African Elephants. Elephants are exercised and stimulated daily, which provides a firm foundation for trust. These animals are highly intelligent and delightful: you will discover a different character, personality and temperament within each one. Learn a lot about elephants get to touch, feel, feed, walk trunk-in-hand and even ride these magnificent animals.

Transfer by road to Kruger/Mpumalanga International Airport or to Johannesburg International Airport for your onward flight. – Tour Ends

DROP OFF OPTIONS

Overland: Transfer back to Johannesburg International Airport for arrival at approx 7:30pm.

Fly-in: Flying out from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) or Mpumalanga Airport (MQP)
